Early Help

Our Early Help Family Support Practitioners can help you tackle issues that are having an impact on the family. This includes:

  • Mental health
  • Parental separation and conflict
  • Substance misuse
  • Domestic violence
  • Housing and financial struggles

Support for fathers

Father Friendly Borough is a co-production project where local fathers can help shape services to ensure they reflect the real needs of dads. This includes:

  • Local meet ups at cafes and pubs
  • Whatsapp community to stay informed about local opportunities
  • One-to-one support
  • A round table for dads to get involved with shaping the design and delivery of family services.

Explore your connection with your baby 

Build a stronger bond with your under 3 year old and help them feel loved and secure.

During a free 1:1 session a trained professional will review footage of your interactions with your child, and help you identify and build on your existing strengths.

Learn new techniques to improve communication, handle stress and manage conflict

Managing conflict calmly and respectfully helps children feel secure and models healthy ways to express feelings and solve problems.

These short courses are free to access and full of practical tips. You’ll learn how to:

  • Handle arguments and disagreements in a healthier way
  • Recognise and manage stress—your own and your partner’s
  • Talk about difficult topics without things escalating
  • Support each other through big life changes like having a baby or separating
  • Put your children’s wellbeing first, even during challenging times
